him Friday night with open arms.

During
Pudge's pregame news conference, Rangers
outfielder Carl Everett poked his head
in and later bear-hugged his former
teammate. With umbrellas held low and
hopes held high, fans stood in the rain
and awaited a chance for an autograph.
And, just before the delayed start of
Florida 8, Texas 0, the Rangers honored
him with a video highlight tribute,
a commemorative painting and a 1999
American League West championship banner
presented by former teammates Gonzalez
and Rafael Palmeiro. |
